Pesten door leeftijdsgenoten is een wijdverbreid probleem in veel gemeenschappen in Europa (Furniss, 2000). Bovendien wordt één op de drie kinderen in Europa regelmatig gepest (Piskin, 2010).   Зошто MUDI? Задевањето меѓу врсници е широко распространет проблем во многу заедници низ Европа (Furniss, 2000). Дополнително, едно од три деца во Европа редовно е предмет на задевање (Piskin, 2010). Ниту еден ученик не треба да се грижи дека ќе биде малтретиран или понижуван на пат до училиште, и ниту еден родител не треба да се грижи дека нешто ќе му се случи на неговото дете (Olweus, 1997). WHY MUDI?

Peer bullying is a widespread problem in many communities across Europe (Furniss, 2000). In addition, one in three children in Europe is bullied on a regular basis (Piskin, 2010). No student should have to worry about being harassed or humiliated on the way to school and no parent should have to worry that something will happen to their child (Olweus, 1997). Because the need to be safe in relationships is a basic human right and every young person has the right to be protected and rescued from bullying (Craig, 2007).  In this context, when the basic psychological needs (emotional accessibility) of adolescents prone to bullying are not met, these adolescents tend towards various aggressive behaviours (Deci, 2000).
